Aadhaar Face Authentication has been witnessing a major growth. Developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), this AI-powered system handled over 78% of all transactions in the 2024–25 fiscal year, which ended on March 31 2025. More and more people are using it, and its growth has been nothing short of incredible.

In Short:

  • Aadhaar Face Authentication handled 78% of transactions in FY 2025.

  • Over 130.5 crore transactions have taken place since 2022, with 102 crore in the last year alone.

  • Used in major government schemes like PM Awas, PM-JAY, and PM Kisan, benefiting millions.

  • Works on iOS & Android, prevents fraud, and allows secure, contactless authentication anytime, anywhere.

More People Are Using Face Authentication

Since its launch in October 2022, Aadhaar’s face authentication system has processed over 130.5 crore transactions. Almost 102 crore of those happened in just the last year, showing how quickly this technology is becoming a part of everyday life.

In the last three months alone (January–March 2025), UIDAI recorded nearly 39.5 crore transactions. March was a record-breaking month, with 15.25 crore transactions, which is 21.6% more than in February. This proves that more people and businesses trust face authentication for quick and secure identity verification.

Helping People Access Government Services

Many government programs now use Aadhaar Face Authentication to make sure benefits reach the right people without hassle. Major schemes like PM Awas (Urban), PM E-Drive, PM-JAY, PM Ujjwala, PM Kisan, and PM Internship all rely on it.

This system is especially helpful for senior citizens and people whose fingerprints don’t work well due to age, physical labor, or medical conditions. Face authentication gives them an easy and reliable alternative.

Easy, Safe, and Works Anywhere

Right now, 102 organizations (both in the public and private sectors) are using Aadhaar Face Authentication. It works on both iOS and Android, making it easy to use on different devices.

Security is a top priority. The system is built to stop fraud, preventing people from tricking it with photos or video replays. Since it’s completely contactless, users can authenticate themselves anytime, anywhere. All they need is their face.

With just a quick facial scan, Aadhaar Face Authentication makes identity verification simple, secure, and convenient. More people and businesses are adopting it every day, and its future looks even brighter.
