Digital India Internship Scheme is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It seeks to encourage submissions from students who actively participate in the educational process by applying the knowledge they have learned in the classroom. Candidates with a strong academic background, higher qualifications, and experience in the field of the proposed internship will be given preference, depending on necessity.
New Delhi will be the location of the internship. The concerned supervisor or mentor will determine whether the internship is virtual or in-person depending on the requirements. The internship must last at least two months, but it may be extended to three months based on the candidate's performance and the Ministry's requirements.
To apply for the Digital India Internship Scheme, the Indian student must’ve studied from a recognized university in India and secured a minimum of 60% in the last degree they held or certificate examination.

The primary objective of launching the DIIS scheme is to enable the students of India to gain knowledge regarding different topics. All the selected students under the Scheme will go to New Delhi to pursue their internship. Once the internship is completed, they will receive a financial stipend of up to Rs. 10,000.
The selected applicants will receive the financial aid directly in their bank account. 2 months is the minimum duration for the internship. It is extendable up to 3 months on the basis of the candidate’s performance and the Ministry’s needs.
The eligibility requirements for Digital India Internship Scheme are as follows:
Be an Indian student currently enrolled in a recognized university in India.
Have secured at least 60% marks in your most recent degree or certificate exam.
Be pursuing one of the following courses:
B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics & Communication, Electronics, or Electrical
M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or Electrical
MCA or DOEACC ‘B’ level
LL.B
B.E/B.Tech (Electronics & Communications (EC)/ Electronics) and MBA
(Finance) OR M.Sc.(Electronics) and MBA (Finance)
The following documents are necessary to apply for DIIS:
A recommendation letter from your current institute (sponsoring/forwarding authority).
If your marks are in CGPA, a letter from your institute explaining the formula for converting CGPA to percentage.
A passport-size photo and your signature in digital format (PNG or JPG).
To apply for DIIS Registration, you must visit the official website of Digital India Internship and create an account there. Once you have created the account, you can go ahead and file an online application there by providing all the necessary details along with relevant documents.
It is important to note that there is no offline registration process for DIIS. If the candidate is selected, they’ll be notified through the contact information they provided during registration.
