Businesses now need more protection than ever. To cater to this need and to protect these new businesses, and residences, several private security agencies have emerged. That said, none of them can operate without the approval of PSARA or Private Security Agency Regulation Act.

Following is the eligibility criteria for applying for the PSARA License:
The applicant must reside in India.
The applicant should have enough money to support a business as expensive as private security agency.
The applicant shouldn’t have any criminal case either pending or any case against him.
Following entities can apply to become a Private Security Agency:
Private Limited Company
Limited Liability Partnership
One Person Company
Sole Proprietorship
Partnership Firm.
The eligibility criteria doesn’t end here. Following the eligibility criteria of the security guard to be hired by the Private Security Agency;
The applicant must reside in India.
The applicant should be between 65 or 18 years of age.
The applicant should have received mandatory training needed to protect someone.
The applicant shouldn’t be some who has been terminated from any government service, because the trust factor is gone in this case.
The process of getting PSARA License takes place in the following stages:
First, it’s the matter of training: All who seek the private security license, need to go through mandatory training by a government recognized agency.
Then, you need to collect the required documents.
Then, you have to file the offline PSARA License application. There is no way to file application for PSARA License online.
The application, once received, shall be processed by the government agency.
If the application and the applicant is genuine, PASARA License is granted.
To get the PSARA License, documents required are many and are as follows:
Certificate of registration of your business entity
A signed memorandum of association
ID proofs of all the security guards you’re employing
ID proof of the shareholders and directors of your agency
The PSARA affidavit, letting us file the application on your behalf.
The logo you’ve used for your security agency.
Your PAN card details
Affidavit that you’ve received the mandatory training needed to run the security agency.
Photographs of the promoters of the security agency
Income Tax Returns of all the directors of the company
Character certificate of all the employees you’ve hired in your agency.
