A network license is a Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing-issued license provided to business entities wanting to operate "networked" wireless products. 

A company with a network license can offer wireless communication services like SMS, voice calls, internet connectivity, data services and value-added services.

What are networked products?

Simply put, certain telecom equipment requires prior approval from the Indian government before it can be operated by businesses. This prior approval is given in the form of a Network license. The telecom equipment is referred to as networked products. Specific frequencies are assigned to such products by the Department of Telecommunications. The licensee employs the networked products.
